With summer approaching and kids out of school, it’s that time of year that we like to start planning our BBQ get-togethers and outdoor fun at home.
Ready for that great backyard? We’ve found some tips to create the space you want based on your lifestyle.
Think about what you want. Are you looking for a place for the kids to play, or a retreat for you to relax, or a place to entertain? Do you like pavers, water features, and plants or something low maintenance. The answers to these questions will help you determine how to plan.
Take a look around the yard. Think about where things are positioned like your patio, any storage sheds, and plumbing. You’ll need to consider these things as you move forward with your plan and what you can move or even salvage.
Make a plan. Take some time to actually make a plan on paper so you can get the vision of what your new yard will look like. This will also help you with any budgeting like additional plumbing or new sprinkler systems.
Make some choices. Think about the type of furniture, plants or anything else you would like to include and make sure they fit with your environment, maintenance, and overall use plans.
Take your time. Take your time in putting your plan into place. Do what makes sense at the right time. If you know you will want an outdoor kitchen complete with a gas stove and sink, don’t wait to install the plumbing and gas hook up that will be necessary down the road. It will save you time in the long run.
And, as always, give us a call if you have any questions about any electrical or plumbing needs you will need for that new great outdoor space you are creating for you and your family.
