Focus. Start by focusing on the room that will get the most use by guests and family. Especially if you’re on a budget for the holidays, this is a great way to create a feeling of a new space that everyone will enjoy.

Mirrors and Lighting. You can literally multiply the light in a room by adding wall mirrors in a room with only a couple of windows.  Mirrors can also make a room feel larger and even a bit more sophisticated. Swap out your light fixtures for decorative ones and add a couple of floor lamps to add more light and elegance.

Pillows and Throws. Make your home feel cozy by adding a comfy throw and pillows on your couch and chairs and even in the bedroom on the bed. Warm tones create a feeling of comfort and warmth, while plaids can add that special holiday feel.

Tables. Decorate your tables with small items like flowers, candles and small mirrors that really express your personality. Set your dining room table with festive napkins, placemats and holiday colors.

Guest rooms. Add small touches to your guest bedrooms and bathrooms with decorative pillows, candles and scented soaps to give your visiting guests the feeling of welcome and comfort.

Good smells. Add scented infusers, warmers and candles with the scents of the holidays to had that special touch of childhood memories to your home.
